Custom Hat MOQ: How to Plan Your First Production Run

11

A minimum order quantity is not just a number on a quotation. It reflects material purchasing, machine setup, labor planning and the number of variations required for your program.

Build a focused first assortment

Start with one core silhouette and one or two colorways. Concentrating demand gives you a clearer read on the market and helps the factory manage fabric and trim purchasing more efficiently.

Count every variation

Changes to fabric, embroidery placement, closure, label or packaging can each affect the production plan. Share a complete specification sheet so your supplier can quote the true configuration rather than an incomplete estimate.

Use sampling to reduce risk

Approve a sample before committing to bulk production. The sample is where fit, color, logo scale and construction details become tangible, making the final quantity decision much easier to defend internally.
